Bridal Hosiery

What lingerie is best for under the wedding dress?

“Nude toned lingerie is always best under a wedding dress. Girls often think that if they’re wearing a white dress that they should also wear white lingerie – but it can show under lightweight fabric so it’s always best to go for a natural nude tone. Our peach Glamourshapewear is a big favourite for brides as it looks seductive but is made from strong power-mesh and contains spiral steel boning to enhance your curves in comfort. Darker skin tones have been neglected in the lingerie world and although we are working on a chocolate lingerie range in the meantim

“Don’t wear nylon stockings if you’re hoping for hot weather, silk will let your skin breathe and stop any unpleasant odours when your husband pulls them off with his teeth.”

“To stop your garter falling down during the service, make sure it’s nice and tight and wear it just above the knee, your kneecap acts as an obstacle on its way to the floor, do tuck a gorgeous little hipflask of Hendricks Gin into it, to calm your nerves before the service and cheekily share with your husband before the speeches!”

“Most brides opt for dresses that are very fitted at the top so a corset is a great choice that is also a very special and unique item so perfect for the wedding night, but some women will find them too uncomfortable to wear especially if they’ve never worn one before. A lightly boned basque might be better for these women as it provides gentle sculpting without actually ‘squeezing’ and there are plenty of options available both with and without straps, depending on the kind of dress the bride will be wearing.”

“Don’t assume that just because it looks gorgeous on the hanger and indeed gorgeous on you, that it will look right underneath your dress or outfit.  Don’t leave it until your big day to find out that it doesn’t.”

How to Get Thigh High Tights to Stay Up

There are many advantages to wearing thigh-high tights: they are less restrictive than full pantyhose, allow more ventilation and are quicker to put on in the morning, to name a few. Unfortunately, there is also a well-known disadvantage to these fashion accessories: it can be difficult to get thigh-high tights to stay up, and stockings rolling down the knee are unsightly. Yet there are solutions to this problem. Follow these steps to keep your thigh-highs up.
erify that your thigh-high tights of choice match your necessary measurements. Thigh-highs that are too big may never stay up. Although sizes are not standardized, individual packs generally have a guideline on the packaging, based on measurements; usually these measurements include height and weight, though waist and hip size may also be included. Use this as a reference guide and buy the size that fits your body best.
Purchase thigh-high tights with elastic at the top. The elastic serves as a grip function, securing the stockings to your leg. Test the band with your hand for reliability. It should easily stretch at least as far as the circumference of your leg (judge this by sight), but not too much farther beyond that. A band with high elasticity is best; and, if you are shopping in plus-sizes, you may want to opt for a thicker band, as it will be more secure.

Use a garter to secure the tops of the thigh-high tights when wearing them. Though garters vary in style, modern variants usually contain at least these two components: a belt, which you should secure across your waist, and four to six straps falling midway down your thigh, with clips at the end. Fasten each of the clips to the tops of your thigh-highs, taking care to space them out equally.

How to Wear a Garter Belt & Thigh High Hose

Garter belts have been worn throughout history for the practical purpose of keeping up thigh-high hose. They are a small belt piece usually made out of satin or lace. Garter bands, which are often seen at weddings, are another way to hold up thigh-high hose. Today, pantyhose has evolved into a garment that can be worn without the help of a garter belt. Now, most garter belts are worn as decorative and sexy pieces of lingerie.

Pull up the garter belt until it's around your hips. The belt should fit snugly, but not create extra bulges. You want the elastic suspenders to be hanging down.
Put on the thigh-high hose. Pull them up to your thighs.
Take each clip at the end of each elastic suspender of the garter belt, and attach each to the top of the thigh-high hose. If the garter belt has alligator clips, it can attach to any type of hose. If the garter belt has button attachments, it will only go with hose that is compatible with the buttons.

Ballet Flats and Tights

-->
Ballerina or ballet flats should be part of every woman's shoes collection. These shoes can go with a lot of different outfits and flatter all body shapes.

Tommy flats

Here is the outfit, a body con short black dress, a pair of black opaque tights, medium to large sized yellow geometric shaped earrings and a pair of leopard print ballet flats. This is a fierce, sexy outfit that screams look at me. If you want to make the outfit a little bit more sexy, choose a see through back dress like the one shown here. This outfit is appropriate for all causal events, romantic dates and clubbing.

If you crave comfort when it comes to shoes, you'll be thrilled to know that flats are back in full swing. And whether they're trendy, classic, or somewhere in between, almost all flats look chic and feel fabulous. The only catch: It's hard to know how, exactly, to wear them. Here, our style rules for flat shoes:
Do choose current styles. For late summer and early fall, you can't go wrong with pointy-toed styles in patent or pretty-colored leathers; flats with metal details, such as buckles and grommets; delicate slingbacks; and feminine ballet styles with bows. Don't go grandma style, wearing shapeless flats with rubber soles in dreary colors -- go for black or brown flats only if they're on the trendy side!

Do pair flats with the right skirt length. Flats look best when worn with a shorter skirt (think an inch or more above the knee), since having no heel can make legs look shorter. Showing a bit more leg, then, gains that length back. Look for a skirt with the slightest flare, which adds a modern touch to the look. And don't be afraid, come fall, to pair a short skirt and flats with tights! Don't wear flats with long skirts. Wearing no-heeled shoes with a skirt that falls below the knee is a big mistake -- you achieve a frumpy silhouette.

Brigitte Bardot inspires ballet flats. You might not know this, but Bardot was in fact one of the first to wear ballet shoes on the street, when Madame Repetto herself made a pair especially for her in 1956.
